The Squad

Profiles for the squad for 2009/2010 Season will be updated soon.

Players signed for 2009/10 season are:

Martin Bell - New addition to the 2009/10 squad.  Bell is a tower between the sticks and is the solid foundation the new Bairnfica team has built itself around

Stuart Sharp - Claims to be a right back, however some of the performances Sharpy has put in in goal surely define him as a goalkeeper.  A worth number 1, and competition for Martin Bell

Stuart Brown - Late addition to the squad this season, meaning a proper pre-season was missed.  His hard work at training has been recently rewarded with some consecutive starts.  Solid defender who takes no nonsense from opposing forwards.

Ross Urquhart - Another new signing for this campaign, Ross lives in the midfield.  Preferring the centre of the park to the wings, he is skillful and more of a presence on the park than he may appear.  Versatile and quick.

Steven Hoggan - Player 2006/07, Captain 2008, Player-Manager 2009, Director of football 2010??  Somebody give the old boy the hint and hang his boots up for him.  Hoggie's a no nonsense centre half showing a talent for picking a winning team.

David Lapsley - Ying to Hoggie's Yang, centre half with skill and flair.  Dangerman to the Braes, Lapo to Bairnfica.

Ross McCartney - Surely a better left back there hasn't been.  A great signing for 2009/10, Ross has already forged an understanding with David Cowan that makes an out ball to teh left back a dangerous attacking tactic for Bairnfica.

Stuart MacDonald - A midfielder at heart, Stu's committed  tackling and heading ability has shown him as a real candidate for right back.  Playable all over the park, if he's able to play...he'll be wearing number 2.

William Risk - Out right is Risky's favoured position...Tiree seems a bit too far though to be included in the weekly team lines.  Work has made him ineligible for the first half of the season, but he'll be welcomed back with his dangerous free-kicks when the work (and the whisky) dries up.

Steven Jardine - Bairnfica's captain, leads from the front and is wise in the ways of football.  Jazz is solid in the centre of the park, but always a great option in the centre of defence.

Christopher Baty - Bairnfica number 8, centre of the park.  Playmaker - weekly, goalmaker - regularly, goal scorer - occasionally, rattle out the pram - only when things don't go his way.  Always in the starting XI, the Bairnfica vice-captain makes a great pairing with Steven Jardine, or even Calum Simpson.

Calum Simpson - The baby of the team, though you wouldn't have thought it by the look of him.  Simmy has worked hard since he joined, and has taken advantage of any chance he has been given.  Netted the vital winner against Well Trust, following an excellent assist, the juvenile will hope to kick on and make centre midfield his own this season.

David Cowan - Swav enters another chapter of his career in the Bairnfica colours, returning to form from a few seasons past.  He links up well with McCartney on the left of the park and causes the opposition no end of problems, shooting or showboating.

Steven Callander - Right midfield looks to be the position which Stevie will fill most this season, but he is a useful striker too.  His speed and knack for taking the ball past an opponent makes him an ideal candidate for this position.

Colin Nicolson - One of the old guard, Nicky has formed a great strikers pairing with Adam Morrison.  With both on the score sheet more often than not, 2009/10 may well be his most prolific season to date in the Bairnfica jersey.

Adam Morrison - New signing for 2009/10.  Sven scores for fun on and off the park, forming a great partnership with Colin Nicolson up top.  Often a constant thorn in the oppositions defence, Sven's determination and commitment could be questioned by no one.

Lewis Hoggan - With a great pre-season under his belt, he unfortunately missed the start of the season due to an operation.  Post op recouperation has slowed Lewfal's return to the Bairnfica team, but is always a problem for opponents back-line winning headers and driving crossballs.

Steven Anderson - The latest addition to the Bairnfica squad, Anderson is no stranger to the team having once featured as a trialist in a friendly last season.  Although the youngsters favoured position is up front, he has the ability to play wherever he is called upon for the Navy Blue

Gavin Murdoch - After 7 years of exile Gavin returned to his beloved Falkirk and had no hesitation for signing for Bairnfica after an impressive trial.  One of three deadline day signings, Murdoch is looking to stake his claim quickly for a starting XI position

Craig Hamilton - Weeks of training with the squad has resulted in Hammo signing up with Bairnfica.  Hammo has pace and a height advantage which will make him a menace to any opposing defence

Craig Simpson - Brother of former player, Andrew Simpson, Craig has followed in the footsteps by signing for Fica.  Versatile Craig provides the team with a workhorse mentality, never giving up for 90 minutes
